Yvonne is a generally registered psychologist who is dedicated to providing compassionate care to young people and their families. Seeking support can be a daunting experience and Yvonne strives to make it less so with authenticity, empathy and warmth.
Yvonne has experience working in schools, community health organisations and private practice, to provide assessments, therapeutic treatment and capacity building supports for a range of presenting concerns, such as: anxiety, depression, burnout, anger, grief and school disengagement. This diverse background allows Yvonne to understand the challenges and needs of children and adolescents across different environments and settings.
Yvonne is committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where children and adolescents feel valued and understood. This includes accommodating for sensory and movement needs, and respecting all forms of communication. Yvonne has an interest in working with neurodivergent identities, in particular Autistic and ADHDers. Her neurodiversity-affirming approach recognises that each individual’s brain is unique and celebrates their strengths and differences. By working closely with young people and their families, Yvonne helps them to better understand their neurotype, develop coping skills and foster a positive sense of self.
Yvonne’s practice prioritises collaboration and curiosity, and is guided by a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dr Ross Greene’s Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, trauma-informed care, play-based therapy and Feedback Informed Treatment.
