Simone is an open, kind, empathic and directive practitioner who takes a collaborative and person-centred approach to treatment with clients, drawing from experience working with individuals, parents and groups. Simone is adept in supporting people develop tools to cope with, and recover from, a range of difficulties.
Simone is a psychologist (clinical registrar). She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and a Master of Professional Psychology. She has previously worked at The Royal Women’s hospital, Schema Therapy Institute Australia, University of Melbourne Psychology Clinic and the Deakin Virtual Clinic conducting diagnostic assessments and utilising evidence-based interventions to support people of all ages experiencing various mental health conditions and life challenges.
In addition to her clinical experience with individuals (adults and young people), she has worked as a University Class Tutor across all years of the undergraduate psychology major at the University of Melbourne, and as an individual tutor as part of the University of Melbourne’s Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme.
Simone utilises a range of treatment modalities, some of which include Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Behaviour Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassionate Inquiry, Intensive short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She has a keen interest in Relational Psychotherapy which explores how our psychic difficulties are created and maintained in the relational environments we share with others.
